Mr. Paul Blair graduated Queens University Medical School in 1982, became consultant vascular surgeon and director of trauma at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1995, and subsequently rose to the clinical director for vascular and plastic surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital and president of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland in 2014/2015. He has an international reputation and is widely published in carotid body tumor surgery and vascular trauma, in addition to having a very busy clinical practice. He has recently retired from the National Health Service but continues to work clinically and is the public health lead for the Northern Ireland AAA screening program.
